Ok, steaks - Denver and Cowgirl Ribeye - would've been Spinalis steak, but they were out - still, perfect cooking, great taste and a rich salad with Blue Cheese, fabulous bread, and the kind of understated easy dining that is all about the food. No big chandeliers, no pushy wine steward, this is a very chill vibe with quality food, the best French fries ever - REALLY! Anyhow, this was a dinner for us, just a husband and wife eating out and giving it a try. Delighted we did. Too many places claim to make a great steak - this place delivers. We were taken care of by Percy, (I think!) charming and unobtrusive with advice on menu that was spot on and wasn't one of those *eye roll* 'suggesting the most expensive menu items' situations...many other Carmel restaurants, you know who you are try to maximize on their 'suggestions' - hey - I'd rather leave a meaty tip than pay for something that does not suit. So, come here for real food, well served without fuss and delicious - not pretentious.
