点评：This was my first time at this Chicago themed restaurant which was recommended by a friend. The interior is a collaboration of nostalgia and retro signage on steroids in a good way. I had already eaten lunch but since I was in the area for the first time I decided to give it a go.
My order was for a Big Italian beef sandwich with American cheese ($11.19), although the Chicago style hot dog which was also recommended.
What I Liked:
- The atmosphere was great and would have been even greater if I ate there rather than get a takeout order
- The Italian beef was slightly better than an average cheesesteak sandwich and certainly was not dry.
- The bun held up for the most part which is tricky with a very moist sandwich
What I Did Not Like
- I thought the price point was a little high for the size of the sandwich (~8 inch)
My overall restaurant rating is 7.9/10 and my Prime Minister of Beef rating is 7.5/10 Moos. Being from the East coast I have had many “Philadelphia” style cheesesteaks sandwiches for which the majority have been better than what I ate here. While it was decent, I would not go out of my way for it however if you are local this may be as good as it gets so I do encourage you to stop by and get “Da Beef”.
