点评：My husband and I have visited this this lovely tea cottage twice before and have always enjoyed both the delicious food and great service. Today the staff - special mention of Doug, our server who went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful breakfast.
We booked for 9:30 am and were really looking forward to relaxing and enjoying our meal. Unfortunately we were sat in the lower bit with a family and an exuberant and noisy toddler - no fault of theirs - but having not slept the night before I asked to be reseated. Though completely booked - as expected for a Sunday, the staff made a great effort and accommodated us at another table.
Our breakfast of salmon and eggs, and the Apprentice for my husband were excellent as usual. The chef always takes great care with both the flavour and presentation of the dishes.
My heart sank however when we were informed that the fruit scones we were looking forward to having were not available - due to some machinery breakdown in the kitchen. After a stressful week and sleepless night, it was the one thing that I was hoping would save me. While checking in on us and chatting, I mentioned how much we were looking forward to having their scones based on the week I had.
Miraculously, Doug returned and told us that the kitchen was making a fresh batch by hand - life savers!!
I must say that these fruit scones are consistently the best we have had. They are always light with amazing texture and full of flavour - the added coconut is beyond delicious! My husband always asks for extra berry compote as it is full of fruit and not sugar.
So to Team Edensor thank you! thank you! thank you - for going above and beyond today. My eternal gratitude to the kitchen staff, Doug and the very lovely young lady (who took our order) for their patience and excellent service and for making our morning really special. Thanks again guys - we will be back soon and probably take Doug's advice and purchase some fruit scones to go.
