点评:We were staying at the hotel with family and had a table for 8 with friends in the restaurant. From a relatively limited menu, three of the items were not available for our party and one that was chosen as a starter was deemed 'uninteresting'. Those of us who picked liver and bacon were pleased with our choice ,as it was tasty and well cooked, and none of the others had any complaints. I was also pleased with my dessert, a peach and apricot crumble that was excellent, but my friend had a bread and butter pudding that was a bit dry and quite unlike a bread and butter pudding than we recognised. A family member had cheese, although the choice was not very varied. More disappointing though was that we had to wait a considerable time for the dessert to be served, and the coffee and drinks after that. And, unfortunately, the wait staff did not seem particularly apologetic about that nor the items that were not available. Also surprising was that there was no 'house' wine on the menu (I have found over the years that a more highly priced restaurant will have a quality house wine). As a result even the cheapest wine on the menu was pretty expensive - though, to accurate, what we chose was good. In summary, a bit of a curate's egg.
