A Hidden Gem in the Cotswolds – Exceeded All Expectations!

点评：Where do I even start?
I booked to stay at the Wheatsheaf Inn with my boyfriend for 3 nights with no real high expectations of the hotel or area. When we arrived, it looked like any old pub, but let me tell you, looks can be very deceiving!
The pub/hotel is absolutely beautiful inside, full of charm and character with that traditional Cotswolds Stone throughout. When we were shown to our room, which was outside on the ground floor, it was absolutely perfect. The room was beautiful — cosy, stylish, and really thoughtfully designed, with a freestanding bath that added a luxurious touch (although a bit tricky to get in and out of when you’re not used to it!).
There were also some fantastic little touches in the room — a Dyson hairdryer with a diffuser (game changer for curly hair!) and a Dyson fan, which was ideal for the warmer evenings.
The staff were amazing from start to finish — friendly, welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. Duncan, in particular, was incredibly helpful and made us feel completely looked after throughout our stay.
Every morning we enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast with a menu of freshly made options. My boyfriend is both dairy and gluten intolerant, and the team went above and beyond to accommodate him — even leaving some dairy-free and gluten-free shortbread in the room each day, which was such a thoughtful touch!
We had dinner in the Garden Room and the food was absolutely fantastic. Every dish was beautifully cooked and presented, and the service was just as good as the food. The overall location is also perfect — peaceful and picturesque, with lots of beautiful Cotswolds spots nearby to explore.
We left feeling relaxed, well-fed, and thoroughly impressed. Already planning our next visit — highly recommend!
