点评:Although our experience here was brief I’m still shocked by what happened last night.
We arrived for dinner, the place was no more than half full and it was pretty cold (maybe because it’s located in the basement?). We seated ourselves and the server came by after a few minutes to say hi and that she would be right over. When she returned she took our drinks order, I asked for water no ice, my husband did the same for himself and the rest of our party and my dad ordered a draught Michelob Ultra. A while later our drinks arrived, all the water had ice in it (oh well, not the end of the world, we didn’t say anything) and just before she cracked the beer open at the table my dad saw it was a bottle and quickly said, “oh wait a second, not a bottle. I asked for draught”. Too late, she already opened it. They had a quick exchange where he indicated on the menu that Michelob Ultra was available on draught and she said it wasn’t so he changed his order to a draught Modelo. Anyway, she went back to the bar to correct the order and took the full, opened Michelob Ultra back with her. I watched her and the bartender have a chat about it and then snapped the cap back onto the bottle and stuck it back into the fridge behind the bar! This was the point at which I could sense it was not going to be a stellar experience, but read on.
After what seemed like an excessive amount of waiting for the draught beer (and to take our food order), remember- it was not busy and I watched our server hang at the bar and mess around with the popcorn machine in the corner - she finally came back with the beer and ready to take our food order. I politely asked if the service would be slow for our food upon ordering (just to adjust our expectations, the kids were hungry - also, NO kids menu available so I had to mentally piece together meals from the limited selection) and she wasn’t sure what I meant by that. I explained that I noticed it took quite a bit of time to just get a beer and she replied with curt and attitude that it wasn't her fault, she had to wait for the bartender to return and he (my dad) ordered the wrong beer. (!!!) What!?!? She continued, she insisted that he ordered the wrong beer and it wasn’t her fault. My dad picked up menu and pointed to where it showed Michelob Ultra was available on tap and this is where we added that we asked for water with no ice and she didn’t even get that right to which she FURTHER denied fault. She said we did not ask for that. (Um, heck no. You’re actually delusional, now). Yes we did and we repeated verbatim what we said. After some more arguing back and forth we decided that we needed to escape this nightmare so she sarcastically added, ‘have a good night’ as we left.
Maybe you opened Apple Maps like I did, did a quick search of where to eat in Tusayan, saw that Squire Pub + Social had decent reviews and you’re considering going there. Friend, steer clear. Just go to McDonald’s or the Pizza/Pasta joint down the road. You’ll thank me later.
