点评：Though my wife and I have dined at several Flemings restaurants in several locales, I would rate our experience on July 9 to celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary at the Scottsdale Road location the best of them all.
We ordered the Tomahawk Tuesday special consisting of a tender, mouthwatering 35-ounce bone-in ribeye cooked just the way we ordered it, choice of two salads, two sides, and two deserts. We opted for wedge salads, which were fresh, crisp, with just the right amount of dressing and bleu cheese, bacon, and juicy flavorful tomatoes; yummy pecorino creamed corn and loaded baked potato topped with all the fixin's, and finished with sumptuous molten lava cake served with vanilla ice cream and rich strawberry butter cake.
The food was superb, the decor elegant, the service prompt, timely, and attentive but not intrusive, and the ambience sophisticated, made the more so by the manager's admirable decision to play jazz throughout the evening at just the right volume: loud enough to enjoy, not so loud as to compete with conversation. This is a notable improvement over the increasingly common choice in so many venues to play club music or rock at earsplitting decibel levels which force patrons to shout to be heard by their companions. The choice to play classy jazz over screech- and-shriek thump is refreshing, in the way that dressing up to dine is not like slumming in shorts and tank top and flipflops at the local burger joint. All in all, a memorable night out to savor and well worth the price. In fact, I'll amend my opening sentence to say that our evening at the Scottsdale Flemings was our best night out in years.
