点评:Our monthly dining group went there after we lost our reservation at another restaurant. The Food Gods smiled upon us & led us to Fleming’s, as the food/drink was excellent & Cameron our waiter was above & beyond. There were seven of us, hungry & rather exuberant, & he kept us well-fed & happy!
The complimentary cheese spreads (not just butter) that came with the bread basket were Champagne & Aged Brie, & Cheddar Chive-yum! The beef carpaccio came on crusty bread slices with arugula & herbed cream cheese-a nice change rather than just spread out on a plate with a drizzle of olive oil. The Seared Pork Belly was a treat, coming as a nice meaty chunk with fig glaze & goat cheese grits. I had the Angus Beef Ribeye & it was well-marbled, flavorful & perfectly done. My companions had other items on the menu & loved them, as well. The desserts were the “icing on the cake” -the Crème Brûlée, Carrot Cake & Chocolate Gooey Brownie! We finished the evening with our favorite Espresso Martinis. No complaints there.
The food came at a little more relaxed pace, allowing us to leisurely complete our courses before the next ones. We appreciated this, as we plan to spend the entire evening enjoying ourselves, not dine & dash. The room wasn’t full, so I expect that if it was busier the timing would be a little tighter. Cameron was funny, gracious & knowledgeable, & even slipped me a tiny taste of Widow Jane bourbon since I’d asked him about it.
All in all, it was a fun & flavorful evening. The only minus was that it was pretty dark in the dining room & we all needed our phone flashlights to read the menu-a small detail that didn’t ruin the experience.
Note, this isn’t a budget steakhouse, so the prices reflect the atmosphere, quality & originality of the food. I will definitely return! Thank you Fleming’s & Cameron for a memorable evening!
