点评：We were so looking forward to this supper! The reviews encouraged us to select Vadivelu. Although we had to wait for poppadoms which arrived post stater, the starters themselves didn’t disappoint. The chicken tikka was succulent and tender although we had to request raita to accompany and CVpartner had already finished. The bhajis were ok. Sambal a bit dull with no citrusy zest nor coriander.
The mains however truly disappointed. A Durban lamb curry, ordered on the bone, arrived bone free. Dry and smothered with a hard sauce which had no fruity softness to it. A few pieces of with bone curry arrived as an afterthought. Not really good enough. The prawn curry too was overcooked and over sauced with no subtlety nor vibrancy. Same chutneys. Same sambal. Yawn. No fresh herbs. No citrus. A bit like something I’d put in normal day sandwiches he’s! Best bit was the chai tea. Worst meal yet on our touring of Cape Town and its surrounds. Disappointing.
