Induna Adventures Day Tours的点评
点评：Induna Adventures should be approached with caution. This tourist adventure business poses a potential risk and may lead to serious accidents.
Induna Adventures offers safe thrilling activities such as mountain quad biking adventures, river rafting, and zip lining; however, these activities come with inherent dangers.
It is commonly assumed that organizations offering such experiences prioritize the safety of their clients and are well-prepared for any potential hazards. However, based on my personal encounter with Induna Adventures last week, it is evident that their primary focus is greed rather than ensuring the well-being of their customers.
I visited Induna Adventures with my son for a quad bike mountain experience. The manager, Iain Gunn, greeted us and requested that we complete and sign the indemnity form. We complied and paid R1200 for both of us. Our allocated quad bikes appeared worn and not in the greatest condition. We departed to embark on our journey alongside our guide, making our way towards the mountains.
Soon enough, I became aware that my foot brake was malfunctioning and I resorted to using the hand brake; however, it had minimal effect. This led me to unintentionally drive through some bushes, narrowly avoiding colliding with a tree. I promptly informed the guide about the brake issue, and he assured me that he would radio forward for a replacement quad bike. With this in mind, we continued on up to the top of the mountain, under the impression that we were going to be met with a replacement quad bike at the top.
To my surprise, I found ourselves ascending the mountain pass. instead of swapping the quad bike at the top of the mountain as I expected, the guide led us down the mountain pass. I was very quickly in trouble and had to take evasive action to avoid losing control of the bike. It wasn't until we reached the bottom of the mountain that I managed to stop the guide. I insisted that he immediately take us back to the base. Thankfully, my previous experience with quad bikes allowed me to maintain control; otherwise, I could have ended up rolling.
Upon returning to base camp, I approached Iain to discuss the quad bike's dangerous condition and recount the incident. In response, he provided me with a different quad bike. I mounted the new bike only to discover that the hand brake was jammed. Wanting to investigate the issue, I examined the hand brake lock and found an arbitrary tree nut that had been placed there to keep it in a locked position due to a broken locking system (see picture). On pointing this out I was once again given another quad bike, and we resumed our journey on the opposite side of the mountain.
As we rode, I noticed that my son, who was ahead of me, struggled with the bike's front cover. It kept flipping up, obstructing his vision and requiring him to repeatedly push it down to see clearly again. His bike then suddenly began to choke, emitting smoke and stalling. Fortunately, my son stopped and waited to see if the engine would regain power to continue up the mountain. He managed to get the bike going again, with a big puff of smoke as it fired up. Everything went smoothly until we reached the end of our quad bike experience. Our guide took us on a circular track that allowed us to drift the bikes, which was a lot of fun. Suddenly, my bike leaned sharply to the left, and my back left wheel fell off and overtook me before I came to a sudden stop. Iain once again came over to investigate, mentioning that the owner of the farm had ignored his numerous emails about the condition of the quad bikes to no avail. He then proceeded to tell me that quad bikes are not meant for drifting, which is why the wheel fell off. This was news to me. I have since contacted Suzuki, the manufacturer of the quad bike, and they informed me that drifting is well within the capabilities of any of their quad bikes. So our adventure came to an abrupt end. We had only been at Induna Adventures for an hour. To date, I have not had an apology or a refund which further confirms Induna Adventures doesn’t care.
Quad biking is a dangerous activity at the best of times, especially when participating in a mountain quad bike experience with bikes that are in shockingly poor condition. These quad bikes pose a serious risk of accidents, that could potentially lead to fatal injuries. I strongly advise avoiding this particular quad-biking company Induna Adventures. If they neglect the maintenance of their quad bikes, it raises concerns about the safety of other activities such as zip lining or river rafting. Take this warning seriously and reconsider your decision to visit Induna Adventures. I recommend that the authorities inspect Induna Adventures for their disregard for the well-being of fun-seeking tourists.
