Food ordering – if a customer orders the regular chips, and you confirm the order twice, don’t then bring the chips with truffle and Parmesan. If the steaks are ordered with two pepper sauces and one Bearnaise, and again you confirm the order twice, make sure they all get to the table – the Bearnaise sauce never appeared.
Comfort – ensure that four guests are seated at a table large enough for their needs – you know the plate sizes and how things are served. The four of us could only eat at the table if all plates were left hanging over the edge. To eat the various courses with side dishes we had to play shuffle with the place settings. Ridiculous, especially when your restaurant is half empty. Or perhaps that’s why it’s half empty?
Service – the two young guys serving our table couldn’t have been nicer or more friendly. Well done guys – you made the best of what you could tell was not a good experience. I hope the tip we left went straight to you guys because no one else deserved it. The rest of the staff - you spent so much time being pretentious and fawning over the large, loud group of obviously “regulars” that you couldn’t tell that other customers weren’t having a good experience. Even when it was pointed out to you, you did nothing. Thereby ensuring that the ignored customers don’t become future “regulars “.
I understand you’re aiming for an upmarket, expensive, exclusive type of place, and I have no problem with the concept – then treat your customers accordingly.
Overall, an underwhelming, over-priced, poorly-served experience, I won’t be repeating.
