Not bad, but probably better options available
Residence Inn Phoenix Chandler/South的点评
点评：Location of the hotel is great - near highways and outside the urban sprawl of Phoenix. It is in a newer community of apartments/condos/single family homes, with a pretty lake, and close to many large corporate HQ and a few good restaurants. Not too far a drive to the airport or to downtown Chandler. Safe area to walk around. The hotel itself might have been nice, but it really did not live up to standard Residence Inn expectations. We had booked a 2-BR unit overlooking the lake, and had confirmed our check in online days prior to arrival. When we arrived, we were told by the front desk clerk that the manager had given away our room, and that we were being placed in a different discounted 2-BR suite. It was on the second floor, with a glorious view of a parking lot, with a bright light that came in through the windows at night (see picture). So that was disappointing. The room was 80+ degrees, because the A/C was malfunctioning, requiring a service call 1-hour into our stay. The issue was resolved and eventually we had working A/C, but not the way to start a trip in Phoenix. The room was generally clean, but the washcloth of the prior guest was still on one of the showers. This unit was supposed to be furnished with enough items for multiple people, but the silverware and china were clearly depleted. While the online check-in asked if we wanted the room made up every other day, we found out on arrival that if you are staying for a week or less, you get nothing unless you specifically request it. I guess we could have done so, but it just seems like you shouldn't have to request service. The breakfast was sub-par, even for a Residence Inn. Cannot explain how the plates and silverware were dirty almost every day - and not just smudges, but actual food residue - had to hunt to find clean dishes and utensils. We had left a snack on our kitchen counter overnight, and in the morning found small ants attempting to get at the food. No big deal - we just had to remember to place food in the cupboards. Also the whole community has an odd smell - maybe from a nearby water treatment facility or the nearby waterways? but could not smell it in the rooms. Although it sounds like the experience was terrible, the room itself was fine, internet worked, hot water pressure/temperature was good, and as mentioned before the property itself was lovely, and the people working there were friendly enough. So it's 3-stars - probably better options out there.
