点评：We travel to CR every January. Last year, our driver introduced us to La Gran Nicoya. We asked to include return meals in our plans this year.
The pineapple and passion fruit drinks (non-alcoholic) are refreshing and generous in size. Typical local cuisine is available, although we didn't have Casado this year (that was last year). A wrap, Cifruijo, and Gallos de Chicharron were enjoyed at two different meals, serving as half-way between one hotel and another stops. The servings are generous, the food amazing, and the service prompt and friendly. Our driver was able to translate for us - you will need to take advantage of the bi-lingual menu or speak Spanish.
It appears that pork is the primary meat of choice, if not a house specialty. The double-fried pork (similar to what I order in the US under the name "carnitas") are flavorful. I had chicharrons - deep-fried pork fat - with one meal and it was the best I've had anywhere.
Laid back and relaxing, a perfect stop on your way from the airport to one of the many beaches (it is about 10 minutes west of the airport).
