My wife and I stopped here to fill up and to get some food. We were going to share a brisket sandwich and a cinnamon roll. I went to get the cinnamon roll first. Was greeted by "Bob". Very nice, very pleasant employee. He heated up my roll, told me where to find silverware and napkins and told me to have a good night. THAT'S what I expect. Not just from Buc-ees but an establishment I go to. Friendly service. Sadly, that's where it ended.
I went over to the meat case to get a brisket sandwich. I asked a manager, at least I think she was a manager. She conveniently had her name tag covered by a jacket. I asked her if she could cut my sandwich in half. She says "no, we can't do that due to health reasons". WHAT?? She goes....you know, you touch the sandwich and then we use our knives to cut it, it's not sanitary. I NEVER TOUCHED THE FREAKING SANDWICH, IT'S STILL IN YOUR MEAT CASE. The only people who've touched it were the employees and yet, a simple request that she wouldn't accommodate me on. I grabbed a sandwich, took one of their cheap plastic knives and attempted to cut it myself. I would have left without one but my wife was really in the mood for it so I cut it myself and moved on thinking that the bad experience was over. Sadly, I was mistaken. Enter "Miranda" the check-out cashier. I walked up to her and put my two items on the counter. I told her that they were separate orders. She never looked at me, not even once. She just stood there chewing gum. She scanned the sandwich, told me the total still looking down. I tapped my card and paid. She started to scan my second item and I said I needed a receipt. She went over to another register and printed one out. I told her "it would really be nice if you acknowledged the customer. You know, make them feel welcome to be shopping there" She scanned my 2nd item. I paid and walked out. NEVER have I ever dealt with such rude behavior from employees. I expected that kind of treatment when I lived in Florida but not in Alabama. Love's is about a mile down the road and with my loyalty app, gas would have been 11 cents CHEAPER per gallon. Get the app, it's totally free and you get 10 cents off per gallon all over the country. There restrooms are pretty clean also. I will NEVER go back to Buc-ees. The employees need some serious training on how to deal with the people who pay their checks
