点评：Sam's Deli makes one of the two best falafels in the Birmingham Area, and among the best in the USA. His tabouli is also excellent, served with warm pita bread wedges. He also makes terrific mint sweet and unsweet tea. His french fries are among the best here - crispy on the outside, soft and really "potato-ey" on the inside. I get them plain and extra-crispy; they usually come sprinkled with the Middle Eastern spices, which I do like, but these fries are so good that I don't like adding anything other than black pepper.
Of course, there is a lot more on the menu, ranging from shawarma and burgers (unique blend of Middle Eastern spices woven into the meat) to baba ghanoush (house-made and garlicky) and humus (made in his kitchen and traditional).
There is covered and enclosed seating, as well as a nice rear courtyard area ideal for evenings and less humid afternoons. All cooking is done in front of you after you order the food.
There are lunch specials for $10.95 that include the sandwich, fries and soft drink, and that's worth every penny. The owner, Sam, is a friendly guy who chats with customers when he's not too busy cooking!
