点评：My husband and I went on a 9 day private tour with Douglas Trent of Focus Tours. It was an amazing experience. We divided our time between the Pantanal wetland and the southern Amazon rainforest. On a typical day we were on the river for ~3 hours in the morning, back at the lodge for lunch and then back on the water in the afternoon. Douglas's knowledge of the birds and other wildlife is phenomenal. Every day we saw new animals. We divided our time between two remote lodges on the Paraguay and the Guapore rivers. The rooms were clean and all had air conditioning. The food at both lodges was excellent, accompanied by the sound of birds and the sighting of monkeys during our meals.
Douglas is a well known in the area as an ecologist, birder and photographer. A number of times our trip was enhanced by his personal connections. I was surprised to find the cost of his tour was less than that of other tours operating in the area. In addition, his tours are limited to 4 people allowing access to a greater number of areas because he can use smaller boats. I look forward to using Douglas Trent on future explorations of South America.
