点评：We’ve dined at Rye before and have always enjoyed it, which is why we chose it to celebrate a birthday on April 14th. I made a reservation and mentioned we were celebrating a special occasion, hoping the team might help make it a bit more memorable.
We arrived early for a cocktail & the bartender carried on a conversation the entire time serving us with another customer on the opposite side of the bar; didn't set the tone right off the blocks
There was a small birthday note on the table, which was a nice touch. However, unlike what we've experienced at many other upscale restaurants, there was no acknowledgment of the birthday during or after the meal. Even a small gesture—like a dessert —would have made a big difference. I would have gladly paid for a celebratory treat, so this wasn’t about expecting something complimentary.
It felt awkward to bring it up in the moment, but I left feeling a bit let down for choosing Rye to mark the occasion. Hopefully, this feedback can help improve the experience for future celebrations.
