点评:This restaurant does everything right. The space is pleasant, dim and cool, with a calming midcentury aesthetic. Staff greet you at the door and accompany you to your table. It all feels very grown-up, in a good way, like in a Danny Glover film. The chefs are serious about offering a vegetarian menu so no fears about getting something that seems like an elaborated meatless version of the quote unquote real thing. I‘m not familiar with Filipino cuisine so can‘t comment on how successful the fusion dishes are but I can say that the food is quite tasty, the presentation appealing and the flavours sophisticated and pleasing. There were good combinations of crunchy and smooth, salty and herb, with pockets of smooth heat and sharp hits of peppery spice. I can eat a lot but was satisfied by the portions (had both mains and starters). The desserts are worth saving a corner for, however. And since I am not fond of garlic Pino was a relief because, unlike typical Filipino cuisine, the garlic was not ubiquitous in every dish and when it was present, it was judiciously used. All in all, given its fair pricing, its location in Teacher‘s Village and 30 minutes‘ walk from Dilman University and just next to the famed Mawhinga Centre and Food Court, and the range of breakfast, brunch and dinner options, Pino is worth visiting more than once.
