Overall, it was a good steak, though I won’t eat there again for that, because there are better options in the Dammam/Khobar area if a steak is top of mind.

1. Yay for cloth napkins! If you’re aiming for fancy, they’re a must.
2. Whatever you do, get the ceviche starter. Light, great acidity, a back end dollop of heat, but not too much. Perfect, delicious, a must have, and best dish of the night.
3. Kudos to the kitchen—they delivered 10 filets at the same time, all cooked to order. That’s no mean feat, given that particular cut is not forgiving. Well done (no pun intended).
4. Try all the starters—they are that good, and perfect for sharing.
5. Music decibels was great in the beginning—low and soft, made for easy conversation. Then around 8:30pm, the volume suddenly cranks up, giving it a pre-party feel. Odd.
