Last June 2023 we finished our one month road trip in Central Asia covering Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. We landed in Dunshabe/Tajikistan on 26 May and departed from Almaty/Kazakhstan on 24 June... crossed overland three borders i.e. from Tajikistan to Uzbekistan, from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan and finally from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan.
A total of around 6600 km were driven in the four countries with the majority in Tajikistan with 3600 km mainly covering all the Pamir plateau. We stayed in big and small hotels, guest houses and yurts. We saw magnificent landscapes, crossed very high passes, were astonished by marvelous lakes, valleys, canyons, mountains and rivers, soaked in hot springs, visited some palaces, met good and fantastic people etc. etc.
At this stage I would like to thank Iman Rahim and his travel company Snow Leopard Tours Pty Ltd for making this journey possible as well as his partner Ulan Ermek. Thank you very much for all great support and organization. Not forgetting our guides and drivers. Just to mention our guides Ali Topman in Tajikistan, Yunusali Azizov in Uzbekistan, Nazima Togusakova in Kyrgyzstan and Lyudmila Yanchenko in Kazakhstan. A big thank you! ... Aza Gaga.. Serendipity.. And life goes on!..
This was the second time we used Iman’s services being the first on another extensive Central Asia expedition back in May/June 2011. Well done Snow Leopard Tours Pty Ltd !
