Small lighthouse, a bit rundown and rubbish needs cleaning up

点评：Sunday 6th April and we walked along the beach from our Hotel, Marhaba Palace, as far as the Starboard Harbour Wall in Port el Kantaoui.
We did walk the short distance to the end of the harbour wall where this lighthouse is located.
Initially when we first saw the structure, from a distance, due to it’s shape we assumed it was a statue or a sculpture. However, as we got closer it became clear that it was a lighthouse/lantern and it's power source solar panels were alongside.
As we walked along the paved pathway, on the top of wall, we saw that there were a number of people fishing from the rocks at the base of the wall.
The lighthouse comprised of the lantern which stood on a circular concrete platform supported by three tall pillars which rested on a thick circular concrete colum all painted green, the colour that denotes the starboard. The entire thing rests on a square block of concrete which visitors used as a seat.
The lighthouse also marked the right hand entrance to the Port, the left hand side being the red Phare Lighthouse.
It was possible to walk all way around the base of the lighthouse. From here there were views across the mouth, entrance and back into the harbour and marina.
Up close to the lighthouse we could see that it was not in the best shape and the concrete was crumbling. We incorrectly thought that it was not a functioning lighthouse, however, at night from our Hotel balcony we could see the green light flashing.
While walking along the pathway, on top of the harbour wall, take care as a number of paving slabs were missing so a bit uneven under foot.
It was disappointing to see that there was also rather a lot of rubbish lying around, some had been washed on top the rocks at the base of the harbour wall, the rest was dumped by visitors.
