Great driver Ridho picket me up at Malang station at 11PM and drove all the way to Bromo, we picked up Vano, the best guide ever. We started at 2AM hiking all the way to King Kong viewpoint (instead of all the 4x4 cars going up in traffic jams). It was a great experience. Vano is a local of Bromo and knows perfect his way. He said he knew the perfect spot to watch the sunrise, away from all the tourists. We arrived at 4AM at the top and we were almost the first one’s to arrive. Front row to see the sunrise. Breathtaking views… We walked all the way back and visited the crater. Had great breakfast and drove all the way to Hotel Ijen View. Room was perfect! At midnight we drove towards Ijen, had a coffee and started climbing at 2AM. Very special! The lake is impressive, the views unforgettable. Vano is just an amazing guide, he gives you the time to experience the views, photographs if you want. Everything on your own rythm! After hiking down we had breakfast and drove towards the ferry at Ketapetang. Everything was taking care of: tickets, health report, drop off at ferry + tickets! Unforgettable experience off the beaten track!
