DLS Highlands in Mussoorie is the perfect example of how to turn a potentially decent property into a complete disaster. The name sounds fancy, the photos online are dreamy, but don’t let the packaging fool you — this place is all show, no soul.
Let’s begin with the staff – completely clueless and impressively indifferent. It's almost like they were trained in how not to care. Requests for water, towels, or basic hygiene were treated like we asked for a moon landing. You could fall ill here and they’d probably take a tea break first.
The rooms? Ah yes, welcome to the 90s – not in a charming vintage way, but in a "we forgot to maintain this place for decades" way. Broken fittings, dirty linen, and a stale smell that’ll stay with you longer than any Mussoorie memory. Hot water is a mythical concept here — you might as well go bathe in a waterfall.
The food deserves a special mention. Cold, tasteless, and served with a side of why-did-I-even-bother. They have a chef — or at least someone who claims to be one — but clearly, cooking is just a side hustle.
What makes it worse? The attitude. No apology, no solution, just a bunch of people shrugging their shoulders as if your ruined vacation is none of their concern. Management should be renamed "Mismanagement Pvt. Ltd."
