Vivanta should reconsider their discriminatory policy against NRI/OCI, automatically denying them NeuPass membership.

点评：The Taj Vivanta is located right in the centre of Trivandrum in a very residential area. One may have thought it would be unusual to find a luxury five star hotel in such a location. Yet, here it is, standing tall, representing vivacity with the Taj brand and of course belonging to the celebrated Tata group.
The entrance lobby is spacious and the front desk staff are very welcoming, efficient and helpful. Taj Vivanta does advertise special discounted rates for members of their exclusive club NeuPass and I understand there’s another called Taj Epicure. So, I asked about their loyalty programme. That is when I realised I was was not-so-welcome having merely NRI/OCI status. This is because it is mandatory to use an Indian phone number as username. That was disappointing and the Vivanta management may do well to reconsider their clearly discriminatory policy against those who do not have an Indian mobile number. Obviously, this was denying me access to discounted rates available only to those their NeuPass loyalty club membership. This may become a disincentive to want to return…
Facilities-wise, they have two excellent restaurants, called Mynt and The Konkan Cafe. And on the ground floor is located a patisserie called Swirl - with comfortable chairs and tables to enjoy the delicious cakes, confections and coffee. Swirl is open from 11 am to 11 pm. They also have Wink which is an elegant lounge bar in the Taj Vivanta.
The bedroom was well lit, thoughtfully furnished and provided for a comfortable stay. There was a welcome tray on the table bearing fruit and pastries. The bedroom was well sprung with a profusion of pillows, allowing restful slumber.
The bathroom too had good lighting and plenty of running hot water from a rain shower.
The hotel boasts an indoor swimming pool, and gym, as well as a business centre. All in all a nice place. Shame though that I felt hurt and mighty disappointed when I found myself excluded from their NeuPass loyalty membership club.
