Uniquely Galapagos的点评
点评：For years I’ve been telling friends and family that I needed to visit Galapagos. It had become a family joke, something to be etched on my gravestone, ‘He never quite made it to the Galapagos’. My wife and I had looked at various options, visited several travel agents but nothing had been decided. Then fortuitously, my wife came across Uniquely Galapagos and General Manager Brett Peters.
From the moment we contacted Brett, our vision was transformed into reality. Having listened attentively to our needs via email, phone and Zoom, a package was created. I also wanted to visit the Cloud Forest near Quito so Brett arranged a two night stay at a Lodge, dropping in at an outstanding bird reserve en route.
All flights, connections and excursions were organised by Brett so that we were able to concentrate on the experiences without worrying about the details.
We stayed on three different islands, all with good hotels and local amenities.
Our final destination was Santa Cruz where we met Brett and were given a guided tour of the town, enjoying an excellent meal at the Galapagos Deli.
This was an adventurous holiday for a couple in our seventies but we were richly rewarded. I was finally realising my dream.
The excursions were all brilliant. I’ve swum with turtles, hammerheads and white tip reef sharks. I’ve had close encounters with giant tortoises and Darwin finches. I’ve photographed Lava gulls and marine iguanas and the ubiquitous seals.
The guides were all superb including Luis, Jeison and Carlos. Stef who guided us on the Santa Cruz activities was incredibly articulate and knowledgeable. Quite brilliant.
I’ve always wanted to see a blue footed booby. On my first afternoon on San Cristobal, I visited a volcano, a giant tortoise breeding centre and a stunning beach. On the rocks on the far side of the beach, a blue footed booby landed just in front of me. Wow! A truly unforgettable experience.
Brett is a great communicator. He responded promptly to any queries both before and during the holiday. He is thoughtful, attentive and flexible. I loved the evening prompts outlining the following day’s programme and detailing the arrangements.
We achieved everything that we wanted to in a two week holiday and it was certainly full on. Towards the end of the two weeks we asked Brett if we could skip one day’s activities so that we could simply enjoy Santa Cruz and the hotel. Brett was very accommodating and we had a relaxing day. That would be my only advice. Build in some down time.
