点评：Grand Abshar boasts 4.3 stars out of 644 reviews on Google. Because the reviews were a mixed bag of compliments and negative experiences, I was curious to try it out myself.
The restaurant is located between Jumeriah and Al Safa, on the coast close to Kite Beach. I found it to be far from downtown Dubai, making it hard to get to without taking a car or taxi.
The service was excellent. There were waiters who spoke Farsi and engaged in friendly conversations with the guests. They were professional and easy to call in case I needed anything. The excellent service was emphasized by the beautiful decor and ambiance of the restaurant.
When it comes to portion size, I felt that the plate of koobideh and rice was not the biggest I’ve had. I’ve seen larger servings in restaurants in London. While it was enough to fill me up, I needed help from the starters to get fully satisfied with my meal.
Despite that, I was amazed by the food quality. From the get-go, I can say that it’s one of the best koobideh I’ve had in Dubai. The meat was tender, soft, and well-cooked. And every single bite burst with flavor.
This great quality comes at a price of 63 Dirhams (£14.02 GBP) for one order of koobideh. I also ordered extras, including Homous, Dough, and Barley Soup, which made my bill rack up to 99 Dirhams (£22.03 GBP). The price is quite standard and is what you’ll normally pay for koobideh anywhere else.
If not the best I’ve had in Dubai, Grand Bashar’s koobideh is certainly among the top 3.
