Diwali - Indian Restaurant的点评
点评：he craving for Indian food was at its peak after 5 days in Serbia and we immediately searched for good Indian restaurant after arriving at Belgrade. The Google search got us to Diwali listed as top choice for Indian food on several websites. The restaurant is located in Ljubicka area, which is about 20 mins away from city center. The restaurant has simple decor with both indoor and outdoor seating. We selected outdoor seating. We arrived here at around 2 PM when there were only 2 other occupied tables.
We ordered masala tea, veg samosa, mixed pakora and veg tikka for starters. The waiter suggested not to order veg tikka as the preparation is not inline with Indian practice but has been adopted for Serbian taste, when we insisted to have the Veg Tikka, our server requested Indian Chef to explain us preparation of the same. After discussing with Chef, we decided not to order. We very happy with their proactiveness to ensure the we get the right food.
For main course, we had lentil, paneer veg, nans and biryani. Food was below average especially the lentil and starters were not good. The service was also slow and generally not that good. Only, masala tea was good.
Restaurant was highly rated but food and service was average only. As we later discovered, there are better option available for Indian food in Belgrade.
