Despite the timing, the waiter went out of his way to help us choose quickly and ensured our order made it through. He and his colleague were professional, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. The food was excellent—memorable enough that we decided to return.
Unfortunately, our second visit was a complete contrast.
We arrived before 20:00 and were met with zero acknowledgment. No host, no greeting—we had to seek out a waiter ourselves. When we asked to be seated inside, we were ignored for a few minutes while the waiter casually busied himself. We weren’t shown to a table, just told in passing, “first table on the left.”
Once seated, we used the app to notify we were ready to order. Coffee arrived lukewarm. The food—not only disappointing, but unrecognisable compared to our previous visit, even though we ordered the exact same dishes. The Ragu was bland, the prawns and spaghetti overly oily, and the parmesan fries had the unmistakable texture of sitting too long under a heat lamp—rubbery cheese and burnt garlic oil included.
When I politely asked for a knife, the waiter snapped, “that’s not how we eat that here.” That response was entirely out of line. I didn’t ask for a culinary lecture—I asked for basic cutlery.
Staff body language was closed-off and unwelcoming. The inattentiveness and lack of professionalism was glaring. It felt less like dining and more like being dismissed and judged. The male staff, in particular, gave off a clear impression that we weren’t welcome, as though they were doing us a favor by letting us dine there.
We tip based on service, and we’re fair. But this time, no tip was asked for—probably because they knew they hadn’t earned one. Their attitude made it clear they thought they were above it.
The service was rude, irrational, and condescending. Based on this experience, I would not return, nor would I recommend this place to anyone.
