点评：My Uncle and I visited the Cook Islands for the first time in November 2023. We went to the Punanga Nui Market in Avarua, on the main island of Rarotonga, on a Saturday morning to look for souvenirs. We came across the Waffle Shack during our souvenir-hunting mission, and since I love waffles, I decided to give it a try. I ordered a waffle with vanilla ice cream and berry compote. It was the best waffle that I have ever had! The waffle was perfect: light and melt-in-your-mouth! The ice cream and berry compote was the perfect accompaniment for the waffle, not too sweet and splendid!
I was also looking for some old Cook Island coins which are no longer in circulation as well as a special edition Cook Island $3 banknote, the staff of the Waffle Shack gave me some current Cook island coins as change. Then Laura, the daughter of the owner of this business, gave me an old Cook Island $2 coin from her personal collection! She also informed me that I can get the $3 banknote from the Bank of the Cook Islands(BCI) in Avarua. Laura is an absolute gem! If you ever visit the Punanga Nui Market, I highly recommend that you try their waffles! The Waffle Shack is open Mondays to Saturdays, 9am to 12 noon. Thank you very much, Laura!
