点评:Marcy’s Restaurant, Duxton Road: Burlesque and victorian meets colourful whimsical wonderment are some of the words I can conjure of when stepping into Marcy’s. It’s an explosion of colours and fun pieces with soft colourful lightings. The giant beautiful chandeliers and glass lightings command your attention. The Victorian bar bathed in soft-lit colours is just so pretty. I absolutely adore this bar and restaurant. Then you’re pleasantly surprised by the food. The sorcery is in the sauce. Hokkaido scallop crudo is one of my fav - it sits in a tangy summery cool concoction of cucumber, roe and coconut leech tigre. It’s a greenery pool of wonderment. Crispy-scaned sea bream is a porcupine-looking curiosity. I would never allow scales on fish to be served but it’s quite an interesting sight. The fish, however, wasn’t cooked well so skin was glued to the fish and I had to let go of chunks. Crispy Brussel sprouts - as dull as it sounds - was another flavour bomb. They were so well roasted. Fried camembert, although listed as a dessert, was moved up to our first servings as it was so tantalising sounding. Cocktails weren’t too impressive in flavours although they do look like a scream. It’s quite an experience soaking in the ambience here - sultry, fun and whimsical take on the stiff Victorian. #eatstylishtravelstylish
