点评:We are staying at the Village Hotel Sentosa and decided to try Native Kitchen, given its convenient location. Unfortunately, “try” is a generous term—we never actually got to the food. We ordered, we cancelled, and now we’re sitting at another nearby restaurant enjoying far better service and an abundance of water.
When asked if we would like water, we replied, “Yes, tap is fine.” After all, we are in Singapore, where tap water is safe to drink, and in a hotel that promotes sustainability by not supplying bottled water in its rooms. However, we were informed that water only comes in bottles at a cost of $2.90 and that restaurants in Singapore don’t serve tap water—both of which are factually incorrect.
Instead, we were brought two mugs of hot water. Why on earth would we want that? When we questioned it, we were abruptly told that this was just “how it is” and that if we wanted cold water, we would have to pay.
At that point, we got up and walked out. The service was poor, and the refusal to provide basic drinking water was nothing short of disgraceful.
Save yourself the trouble—there are plenty of better restaurants within walking distance.
