点评:Tonight I ate at Pepper & Salt in Pattaya, where my partner & I ate two or three nights every week.
They first serve you pieces of bread with butter and some sort of topping to put on the bread... it is getting smaller and less tasty than it used to be.
The pork schnitzel was superb, not so the vegetables. The almost raw broccoli, cauliflower & carrot, etc. with no herbs or spices tasted like, well, plain old raw vegetables.
I said to the chef when I last ate there "you've got to cook things and make them taste good". Alas... it is unfortunately still the same.
The fried potatoes (or potato dauphinoise) were so "un-tasty" that I couldn't eat them. They tasted like... potatoes, bad potatoes, again with no herbs or spices... surely a bit of thyme will go a long way.
For the pork schnitzel I had to ask for more lemon not once, not twice... but 4 times.
Maybe I could not taste things properly at the time but I would give Pepper & Salt a miss for a bit while they work out whether they're a really good restaurant or, whether they now focus on, a 'girly bar' restaurant'.
Pepper & Salt used to be our go to restaurant... not any more.
