点评：I had the pleasure of birding around Kona, Hawaii for a few days with Mandy Talpas of Hawaii Bird Tours as a guide. We did both pelagic and land birding and I don't know where to begin to describe her best attributes. Mandy's eyes, ears, and bird ID skills are unmatched. She has an in-depth knowledge of Hawaiian natural history and details of bird habitat requirements that allows her to find rare and highly sought after birds in addition to the common ones. Her knowledge of Hawaiian birds and bird conservation issues is unmatched. But she's also happy to share her knowledge of plants, insects, reptiles, mammals, fishes, crustaceans, and other life forms that may be new to many visitors. She is well networked with other guides and ornithologists, allowing her to stay on top of the latest locations for finding good birds. Personally, you won't ever find a more pleasant bird guide. Mandy is warm, friendly, outgoing, kind, generous, considerate, thoughtful, and extraordinarily attentive to the needs and desires of her clients. Her sense of humor must be experienced first-hand and will either leave you shaking your head or rolling on the floor laughing. Hawaii Bird Tours has the best and newest vehicles for tour transport and knows the best locations for housing and feeding clients. Look no further than Hawaii Bird Tours and especially Mandy Talpas as a guide to meet (and almost surely exceed) your Hawaii birding needs!
