NOT Safe. Do NOT stay in the area as a tourist. Gentrification has caused a rift in race.
H Street Corridor (Atlas District)的点评
点评:Not Safe. We stayed near the corner of 13 and H on Wylie NE. Do NOT go out alone. I was verbally accosted and run down by a woman on a bike, and then assaulted for my skin color by her. Police called, arrest made. Thinking it a one of incident, I went to a cvs near 8th and H. I was verbally assaulted again for my skin color at the street car stop. A local gentleman stepped in (thankfully) but then informed me I should know better, i should get out of there, and I was not welcome in this neighborhood due to my color. Crime in this area is up 89% according to Washington post article from 8/22. I should have done more research. Day time is NOT safe. Streetcar is NOT safe. Uber drivers didn’t want to come to our area. Drug deals in broad daylight. DO NOT STAY HERE. Forget the demographics Whole Foods generally provides and the ease of union station. Police are overwhelmed and even calling them had me on hold. I have traveled the world. This is the most unsafe I have EVER felt.
