点评:Went here for dinner for the first time with some friends on Dec. 28. I’m partial to Indian food and the food here was just great. I presume they have an Indian chef because you can tell when the food is genuine.
For an appetizer I had the papadum which was nice and crunchy. Then for dinner I had the Punjabi Taster for two. I figured if I couldn’t finish it, I could take the rest home but I had no problem eating it all right there. This may be the only drawback… if you’re a big person, or have a big appetite, you may find the entrees a bit small, but just make sure to order some appetizers or extra naan or rice and you should be okay.
The taster for two included 3 different flavours of tandoori chicken breast cubes, chicken in tikka sauce, basmati rice and garlic naan. Everything was delicious. You can order the dish hot and spicy, mild or in between. I ordered hot and spicy but for me it wasn’t that hot, but then I have a high tolerance for spicy food.
The taster for two, with an appetizer (papadum) and one non-alcoholic beer was HUF 10,000 (USD 29). My friend who ordered one appetizer, one entree and a beer paid about HUF 8,000 (USD 23) and one friend ordered just a single entree and a beer paid about HUF 6,000 (USD 17). So it is not what some might consider cheap, but very reasonable for the quality of the food. If you want a decent restaurant in Budapest, you are not going to get away with much less than this anyway, so I considered it good value.
Wait staff was helpful and friendly. I also liked that you can just get up and pay at the cashier when you finish. Don’t have to wait around for the waiter to bring the bill or your change. I will definitely come here again. They have a very big menu with lots of selection so I am looking forward to trying some of the other Indian specialities.
