We have been visiting Snr Frangos for 15+ years and tonight’s experience may have made this the last sadly.
From the moment we sat down, and our covers were placed in front of us within seconds, we felt rushed.
During the meal they tried to take plates while people were still eating and glasses that still had drink in them. They took dessert menus away having only taken half the table’s dessert orders without letting the other half of the table look at the four menus our party of eight were given. No one was offered more drinks at any point and having at least seven members of staff watch you eating so they could swoop for your plate or glass the minute that you paused for breath was incredibly off putting.
If this had been mid summer and there were queues out of the door it would have been a bit more forgiveable, however with 31 places available and no one waiting it seems very over zealous.
Although it is still good piri piri, the chicken portions have reduced by at least half and are less value for money and I think there are friendlier and better restaurants in the vicinity.
Whilst I understand the need for efficiency, the feeling that the staff were being orchestrated to clear tables was very uncomfortable and a more balanced approach would make for a pleasanter dining experience.
