点评:Our experience at dinner was generally good with a couple of reservations.
The first issue was just plain odd. We were asked to wait for our table as "the kitchen are really busy". That seemed totally reasonable to us as the only two FoH staff were run off their feet yet still doing a brilliant job. Until it becane clear our table was a couple of steps from the waiting area, fully set already, and we already had menus in our hands so we could consider our order. So it would have taken five seconds to seat us ten minutes earlier without impacting the kitchen.
The FoH staff were friendly and efficient throughout so that must have been a management directive, for some reason. The place was practically full at 6:30 and they coped with that really well, plus the meals arrived quite promptly. The mushroom arancini ($20) entree was very tasty. Lasagne ($32) was also good if perhaps not having quite as much bite as some. For the price though I would have expected the portion size to be a little larger.
Coffee is a very personal thing but I expected a pretty good cappuccino at an Italian restaurant. Perhaps it was more "authentic" I don't claim to be an expert, but to me it seemed a bit too milky with a good crema but lacking any of the creamy foam normally associated with this variant. The taste of the coffee grounds was strong but not offset by a sprinkle of cocoa/chocolate/cinnamon powder - or hardly any. This might be the correct approach but it's not what I have experienced in hundreds of other places.
These criticisms should not be read too seriously. They didn't detract much from a pleasant meal served by hard working excellent staff.
