I used to come 2, maybe 3 times a week to this place, with family or friends or just by myself eva use this place WAS so great, since it’s renovation it’s completely busted :/ i’ve been trying to remain positive about it for a long time (i’m talking years) but every time i’ve gone it’s been subpar - using nice words here- the entire appeal of the restaurant has been stripped, somehow they chose a new design that makes the same space actually feel smaller than what it is, it’s super dull prison cell vibes. if you haven’t been you won’t know what i mean but if youve been you know lol, that’s the least important part, none of the hours they list are correct, the kitchen closes when the employees decide they want to go home, & past that they barely pay attention to you when you’re at the door or when you’re actually sitting down to eat , & i’m not exaggerating, i once sat for 15 minutes to try & get my bill :( when it was nearly empty, again trying to remain positive lol. i’ve tried to go to the restaurant for the past 2 days to find they’ve closed *hours* before they’re actually supposed to. the staff in general are seemingly not managed by anybody or they’re literally just lazy, again this is the nicest way i can put it. they do not have any sense of customer service. the food is so average & always has been but it was the only place in coogee with (past tense) nice and efficient staff, they weren’t being slaved or rushing but i mean the people currently there don’t give a fk about their work tbh. been a coogee local my whole life and this place will not last another year if something doesn’t change :( hurts my heart to rate 1 star but whoever runs this place needs to pull their head out of the sand, they’re missing out on so much money. switch it up asap, or at least make sure the people you hire know they’re working at a sushi restaurant :/ good luck
