'At the Going Down of the Sun We Will Remember Them’
Glenelg Fallen Soldiers Memorial的点评
点评：This modern war memorial, in the centre of Glenelg, commemorates those Australians who have died in service in WWI, WWII and later conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
It is positioned in Moseley Square near the Glenelg jetty and in line with the Pioneer Monument. The giant ferris wheel looms overhead, dwarfing everything else.
The memorial has a modern, non-traditional appearance. It consists of a simple but large, half-moon shape and stands just under 1.5 metres tall. Made of grey granite it has two faces, both with inscriptions.
On the side facing the sea, it reads 'At the going down of the sun we will remember them’. On the other side, facing the mall, it says 'In memory of all servicemen and women who made the supreme sacrifice Lest We Forget’
Another much older war memorial is similarly located in front of the Brighton jetty and Brighton beach.
