点评:The place has no vibe and was just depressing. Food served on little plastic trays (are they kidding???) made you feel like you were being served a pre-school lunch. Everyone there couldn’t eat their food quickly enough and get out.
The menu is a bit confused. Trying to be American style smoked food, it’s mixed with classic Aussie pub staples. Just choose - my wife had the schnitzel which was awful (seriously, how do you get schnitzel wrong?). The kids fish and chips was also a disaster - dry fish and chips described below.
The chips were also woeful. Lukewarm, limp and pasty. Honestly, chips can save the day but these cheap and nasty potato sticks were simply damning.
The US style smoked menu is on the right track but execution was just poor. Feels like a kitchen that just doesn’t care. It was just smoked, over sauced slop. The quality of ingredients is a real question mark - I’m not expecting 5 star restaurant quality but what they at serving doesn’t take a genius to prepare. The brioche buns were as cheap and low quality as it gets.
Some effort with decor and atmosphere (any would be a start), better quality ingredients, some care with preparation, some restraint saucing the burgers and some pride in what they are delivering could see this place shine with a differentiated product in the town.
