点评：We decided on this place for my husband's birthday lunch because we read it was 'dog friendly' and even had a dog food menu. Coming to Hamilton for the day we almost always have our Swiss Shepherd with us and that was an important factor. What a great decision! can't believe we haven't found this place before, though it is a little off the beaten track tucked away in a quiet corner beside the Waikato river, in a neighbourhood of old, character homes. We were greeted so warmly on arrival and offered the dog menu to order for our Mia (got to feed the dog first!) very impressive little menu of delicious doggie temptations and drinks.
We were so impressed with the number of house made items on our menu (breads, sauerkraut etc) and relished browsing through the delicious sounding options, the range of unusual ingredients makes this place a standout dining experience. It was very hard to decide - but husband went for "the Commoner" a big breakfast option with thick cut bacon, sausages, vegetables and the works and I decided on the Salmon Lox toast, on gluten free home made bread with a preserved lemon salad. The food was beautifully presented and had impressively generous portions to satisfy the biggest of appetites while not compromising on taste or quality.
Our waiter made the whole experience into something special, he was so attentive and charming, service was top quality in every aspect. We loved the sparkling water too as a nice touch. Looking forward to returning in better weather to enjoy the outside dining even more and of course sampling some of the other menu items.
