In dire need of some loving!

点评：My how the mighty have fallen! I first stayed at this hotel more than 10 years ago and back in the day it was an impressive facility. Now here I am on the last day of November 2024 and the place is in dire need of some loving. I'm staying in room 8312 overlooking the river with a big balcony and awesome views. The room is very large but its best days are clearly of an historic nature. The bed is adequate although only just. It really needs replacing. There is no lighting near the bed. The bedside cabinets no longer have bedside lights and in order to have lighting while in bed, the switch is near the door. Fortunately most people have cellphones with torches....but really?
The bathroom is replete with cracked tiles and the hot water sometimes has absolutely no pressure. The carpet is heavily soiled and in dire need of a deep clean. Some of the room lights do not work. The lock on the balcony door is almost falling off. I'm told the owners are Indians. I've been to India and that explains a lot. 'nuf said!
However, the reception staff are next level outstanding, particularly Brooke who always has a big smile on her face and a friendly greeting for everyone. How she manages to thrive amongst such mediocrity is a mystery.
