点评:We went on a Wednesday evening it was quiet, at its peak there were 15 people in so not busy at all, some were just having drinks so not food service required.
We had the choice of tables which was nice we chose one in the olive tree dining room, it’s not a room its corridor which leads to the toilet, offices and apartments behind, while we were there was a constant stream of workmen walk through with equipment watching what you are doing, its worse than a food court.
We ordered wine and some olives to start while we looked at the limited menu. The wine arrives but we had to wait a long time for the olives about 15 minutes, how long does it take to pour olives from a jar …on arrival they were given to us, we waited but not one came back with napkins or anything to eat the olives with, we had to go and ask, she was at the bar chatting to the bar man.
We then ordered a starter to share and two separate mains, one beetroot salad and one steak (medium rare) with potato gratin.
The second starter so share arrived, again no side plates were given we assumed the waitress had gone back for some, but nothing arrived we could not see her to signal to so again we had to go and ask.
Some time later about 20 minutes she arrived with the salad main for one of us and explained there had been trouble with he grills and the other main was now being cooked? So, they think you’re out for a meal as a couple and one eats while the other watches? No, we asked her to take the salad back and bring both mains together, they gave us free glass of wine whilst we waited.
They eventually arrived and my wife cut open her stake to find it was well done, then trying to potato found them to be cold and not cooked, the fork struggled to enter the potato slices, we called the waitress back explaining this they offered to take it back a cook another steak , this was done and on return the steak had been cooked right, the cut of meat was different, the potato had just been heated not cooked , so it was still uncooked, we asked for the chef to come out so we could show him the issues direct, a few minutes later he arrived and he tested the potato and agreed it was not right, but he also explained that he wasn’t the actual chef he was the second chef the actual chef does not work in the evenings, and this potato Gratin had actually been cooked the day before so all he was doing was re heating it and he could not cook another.
By now we had lost patience we sent the whole meal back ate the salad and decided to leave , the bar manager came to us we explained we were unhappy , he offered to not charge for the uneaten ( inedible) meal and one of the starters , this we accepted , I asked for the phone number of the manager/ owner to talk to them direct about the night but was not given this , I left my number to be called if they wanted to talk to me directly, they did not hance this review . the Bar manager admitted he had been given the potato as his staff meal earlier and he also felt is was not cooked, so I asked why serve it to customers!
