Well Located Updated Hotel with Good Service
霍巴特皇冠假日酒店的点评
点评：This hotel is a great value and very comfortable. Seems to have been recently renovated.
Checkin was efficient and friendly and they gave us good IHG status recognition and upgrade. Room was modern and well equipped with a nice big bathtub and bath salts, always welcome. The location is great and very central but there is no onsite parking and very easy to miss the hotel, barely anywhere to pull off of the busy street for valet. We saw other reviewers mentioning cheaper off-site parking at a nearby garage and we tried that- big mistake. Not only was it a hassle but it ended up being more expensive than the $35 valet parking since they had no 24-hour rate. Did valet on the second night and it worked well.
The club lounge was nice and the staff was very good (especially Shrevati the Nepalese woman) with a fantastic view and lots of seating, but the food and beverage were somewhat limited. Soft drinks, chips, nuts and chocolate during the day and during happy hour, only one hot dish and several cold dishes. Choice of several types of wine and beer. Compared to a US lounge, very good. Compared to an Asian lounge, minimal. Definitely more of a place for a drink and light appetizers than for a full dinner.
Breakfast buffet was good, a bit slow on check-in. The food was generally good and we enjoyed the home cooked beans instead of the usual canned stuff. But they really should add a salad bar section. They had nothing at all in the way of salad or fresh veggies. We missed that and most hotels of this star rating including the ones we've stayed at in Australia do offer salads at breakfast.
So the F and B could use a little improvement both at the club lounge and at breakfast but I'm giving this place 5 star rating because I think it's a very nice hotel and a fabulous value.
