点评:I am disgusted with the total lack of service received from Lake Burley Griffin Cruises.
As South African visitors we were looking forward to this cruise and seeing Canberra from the water.
Our party of four adults (two elderly, one in a wheelchair) and two toddlers arrived at the jetty 15 minutes before our departure time. There was no signage showing where the cruise starts and our phone calls to enquire went unanswered. The boat we were expecting never arrived and once again, our telephone calls to enquire what was happening went unanswered.
My daughter, who had made the booking and payment, eventually saw that she had missed a call from an unknown number at 10:30 pm the previous night. After setting up the voice message service on her phone, she heard that our cruise had been canceled! There was no explanation for the cancellation, or last-minute voice message, simply telling her to make contact to arrange a refund.
This is outrageous. Why did they not call us the next morning to ensure that we had received the message? The fact that they didn't send someone to the jetty to meet us in case we missed their message, says much about how little these people care about their customers. As does the fact that to date we have not had an apology or explanation.
Apart from the disappointment of not having our cruise, the difficulty and inconvenience of several bus changes with a wheelchair passenger made this an outing to forget.
To add insult to injury, my daughter received an e-mail the following day saying, Thank you for choosing Lake Burley Griffin Cruises. It was a pleasure to have you as our guest. We hope to see you again soon!"
We expect this level of incompetence in our home country, not in Australia, where we have had nothing but superb service and experiences do date.
