Disappointing Experience – Far from the Promised Luxury

点评：We stayed at Hôtel Soleil des Tsingy expecting a high-end experience, given its positioning as a luxury lodge and the price tag—more than double that of other accommodations in the area. While the building and setting are objectively beautiful, the overall experience was incredibly disappointing, mostly due to the poor service and mismanagement.
The staff, although polite, were clearly not trained and seemed completely lost when it came to basic hospitality. Service was slow, disorganized, and at times uncomfortable. For a so-called luxury lodge, the lack of professionalism was shocking.
You are required to take full board, but there is no choice offered: one starter, one main course, one dessert—take it or leave it. The food itself was subpar: flavorless, unimaginative, and served in child-sized portions. Even worse, breakfast was laughable. We invited our driver and were charged 50,000 Ariary for one small piece of bread, a tiny banana, a single croissant, two miniature pieces of cheese, and a slice of processed ham. Eggs were not included—you had to pay extra. In our 16-day trip across Madagascar, we never experienced such poor value anywhere else.
One more absurd example: we ordered a coffee in the afternoon and simply asked for a bit of milk to go with it—they charged extra for the milk, explaining that it was only included at breakfast. It was petty and completely out of line for a place marketing itself as high-end.
Overall, this hotel promises luxury but delivers far less than even the most basic lodges we stayed at elsewhere. A very frustrating experience and definitely not worth the money.
