点评：Came here on a Saturday night as a recommendation from colleagues who come here on special occasions. The venue is really nice- I think it would normally be better had it not been pouring with rain and had the main bar not been shut for a private function.
This may seem strange to say but the service was too attentive making it a negative aspect. We had barely sat down and were asked twice if ready to order. When we did order, our starters came within 90 seconds and our mains not long after that. We were then asked twice about desserts and again that came in seconds. We could have been in and out with three courses in 30 mins. Not sure if the private event meant they wanted to get our food through quickly or if it’s normally like that.
The food itself was better than standard pub grub but nothing special. Smoked salmon starter had loads of salmon but hard avocado and the pork chop main was pretty chewy.
Overall I wouldn’t be disappointed to go here again but wouldn’t choose to. Perhaps we will give it another go on a sunny day and with our dog on the outdoor terrace.
