Tyaak Cemetery的点评
点评：My friend and I were driving between Broadford and Flowerdale when I spied the sign for this... we did not have time to stop so I returned the next evening.
Tyaak is a locality in the Shire of Mitchell and it is 99 kilometres from Melbourne. However, when I drove into the area to see this cemetery there were a cluster of houses. And what appeared to be mass accommodation sheds on the property next to it...but they may have been for shearers in another time. I found the area quite eerie so it reflected the cemetery vibe- I guess.
Three dogs... well Chihuahuas... which are similar to dogs ( :) ) came out to express their apparent dislike of having a stranger near them. Fortunately by this time, I had closed the gate behind me. The cemetery is fenced. There is an information board that shows where existing graves are. There is also bench seating available should you want to rest or stay awhile.
There is a sad headstone here for Mitchell Emmins who only lived from the 3rd August to the 17th December in 1988. Two other graves are marked as "Infants Unknown - Aged 1". Another cross is marked for Rita Elana Pekolj Who was born on the 11-05-1994 and died on 17-05-1994.
Someone called Astrid Waltham died here in 1994 at the age of 36. What an exceptional name... they sound like a movie star. To note there are also a lot of people here with the surname of Daws.
