Stressful end to one of the happiest days of my life.

点评：We had a party of 13 people in Sika restaurant on the 16th of May to celebrate my wedding to my wife.
The food and surroundings were very nice. But the service was not of a 5 star restaurant. There seemed to be just 1 waitress to take all our orders. The menu had a lot of French language terms. There was no explanation of what was on the menu or what these terms meant. The waitress also took our drinks order at the same time. This meant that some of my guests were waiting for a long time to get food and drink.
My parents are elderly and they got very stressed about this as they were tired, thirsty and hungry from the day of our wedding. This made the whole evening stressful for me. The waitress was very polite and was trying her best. There seemed to be lots of other staff floating around and the restaurant was not busy.
So the problem seems to be one of staff management and training. Doing simple things like - when the guests arrive show them to their seat, offer a drink, give some simple food / snacks so that they can relax. At this stage when everyone has a drink and a snack, explain the menu and take orders.
This was not done. After the main course, it took about 1 hour for dessert to arrive. We were not in a hurry so it did not matter but it was emblematic of the amateur nature of the restaurant.
So in summary, it was a disappointing evening for a very special day of my life. Good food, good staff. Just very poor management of resources. I hope this was a one off.
