点评:We visited this restaurant on a Saturday night as a family of six, and were truly blown away. We hadn’t realised it had reopened, and discovering it again felt like stumbling upon a hidden treasure – familiar yet completely elevated.
To start, my husband and I had the scallops – beautifully seared with a rich, teasty depth of flavour that lingered on the palate. The goat cheese salad was a standout for my mum, who called it one of her new favourites and full of summer flavours
For mains, we ordered the beef cheeks, seabass, and a sharing platter – every dish was cooked to perfection. The beef cheeks were melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the jus made from the beef stock was so good that even our kids (who never eat gravy!) loved it. The chef even kindly shared the recipes for both purées on the plate, which was such a generous and appreciated touch.
As a baker myself, I’m quite picky with desserts, but the crème brûlée was simply divine – smooth, delicate, and topped with a perfectly torched sugar crust. I've tried to make it many times at home and never quite get it like this!
We used to visit often when it was The Two Mile Inn, but the transformation is incredible – especially when it comes to the food. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff were lovely, and the whole evening was a joy.
My only minor complaint was the presence of a few flies, which I’m sure is just a seasonal issue – certainly not enough to take away from such a fantastic meal.
We’ll absolutely be back – this place is a true East Cork gem.
